20" Apple Cinema Display, 1st Gen. 16gb iPod Touch, Late 2008 MacBook Pro on top of Griffin iStand controlled by an Apple wireless keyboard and Magic mouse, 1TB Seagate external HDD, 32gb Ipad wifi only, 21" Samsung display, 2cd Gen. TV, Razer Lycosa keyboard and Razer Death Adder mouse which controls a Windows XP box i built for my job(under the desk). You can barly see it but there is also a Power PC Mac Mini on top of the Windows machince which acts as a FTP server.

That's no late 2008 MacBook Pro. It can't be, because the late 2008 MacBook Pro was the first to get a unibody design. That might be the early 2008 MacBook Pro with the old classic design. Sorry to say that ;)

Nice setup though! :)

poppeJan 2, 11:36 AMI have to say I'm not excited for a single rumor yet for the this Macworld. iPhone maybe but who has money after Christmas... I mean I sure don't not for a phone anyways...

iTV. Could careless about it unless there is something better than what is already expected.

Only thing I can hope for is that they have some updates on Leopard like doing a blackish gray theme or something.

iLife... nothing really useful I use in there. How about a Microsoft Killer app so I dont have to mess around with Word (not that it doesn't work fine on here).

ipodG8TRAug 16, 12:38 PMAnd why not offer clips from Sirius shows, namely Stern, as downloads from iTunes? Apple already allows explicit content (think every Hip Hop song), so there shouldn't be a problem.

Song paradies and other clips would sell like hotcakes for .99!

Stern isn't for everyone, but millions of fans would bring some serious attention and cash to Apple.

m-doggSep 1, 12:19 PMHmph...I don't really trust masOSXrumors at all, even if they were correct on a couple things for Leopard, I think those were more just lucky guesses that lots of people were speaking upon prior to WWDC...

23" would be sweet though. I love my 20" iMac, so I can only imagine that with 3 more inches to love!

Maybe they'll just bring out the 30" Anniversary iMac with Jobs saying "Did you really think we'd just ignore our 30th this year?" Then again, maybe not.

Western Digital My Book 1Tb

Running Plex Media Centre and iTunes for media.
Recently came across Plex Media Centre on here - brilliant and free!
Mostly 1080p video and lossless audio.

350 Movies, 10,000 songs, 15,000 photos & lots of TV programs...

Waiting on a delivery of some braided wire sleeving to hide the ton of wires going to the amp better. Pretty neatly hidden the equipment around the room. :) :) :)

Considering getting a new Amp - probably a surround amp but unsure as the music quality will drop opposed to a stereo hifi amp.
Other option is an xbox 360?

VegasmanMay 2, 05:58 PMThat Windows dialog is horrible. Why is there so much info? Are the file size and image dimensions really helping me decided whether or not I want to delete it? And it has the classic Windows "Yes" and "No" buttons (instead of having something useful like Cancel and Delete). If that dialog pops up, you have to squint your eyes and look all over until you see "Delete ..." in the upper left corner, then take a second to make sure "Yes" actually means "Delete". And if you want to cancel, should you hit "No" or the X in the top right?

That OS X dialog IS NOTHING like that Aero dialog.

Weird. When I ask someone a yes/no question, I expect a yes/no response.

Do you understand what I mean?

kingtjSep 7, 02:24 PMI thought this was a great idea too, except when I mull it over - I'm not so sure Apple will really go there. With the larger variety of Intel iMacs available now, it looks like Apple's really trying to build one for every possible home-user or small office user's need. I agree that it'd be nice to have an expandable, upgradable Mac with no display built-in that doesn't carry the price tag of the Mac Pro line -- but think about users like us who say that. We're in the minority of "power users" or "more advanced users". Apple has made it pretty clear that if you're in that category, they want you to invest in one of their "Pro" systems. Otherwise, they cater to folks who see their computer as an appliance or tool and just want something they can pretty much plug in and use. These customers are not interested or comfortable doing things like opening up a system and upgrading video cards.

The Mini is Apple's answer to any remaining "casual users" who throw a fit because they just want a new computer to plug into their existing keyboard, mouse, monitor, and maybe USB hub they bought before.....

The "void" you talk about in Apple's product line is one I *think* Apple leaves there willfully.

cmon apple. get a clue.

these little mini's are nice but not great. there is a real void in your product lineup.

we need something with like a intel conroe chip, larger case, the ability to put in a better graphics card, and the basics like more ram, bigger hard drive and stuff.

give us a bigger mid sized tower type computer.

we all don't want to buy something with a screen. nor do we want some tiny puny non-upgradeable thing like the mac mini.

give us better options.

NewSc2Nov 28, 04:39 PMRepeat after me:

The monopoly is not Windows. The monopoly is MS Word.

Word? Word's being replaced more and more by e-mail. I used to type my notes in GMail and sometimes I write essays in GMail and just copy it over to Word for formatting. AutoSave and anywhere recall is handy.

Excel on the other hand... Google and Apple are lagging there. Google Docs & Spreadsheets are still very slow, and a bit counter-intuitive.

spicyappleNov 28, 10:15 AMMicrosoft lost billions on the Xbox and likely to lose hundreds of millions on their Zune attempt. iPod sales have been profitable for Apple since their introduction. How one measures success in this industry can't always be marketshare.

IcarasApr 21, 08:57 PMBecause they did it with Snow Leopard and the MacBook, MacBook Pro, and MacBook Air in the summer of 2009.

Yup, exactly. I had purchased the 2009 MBPs in July, which came out in June....SL came out in August...Fortunately, Apple offered a nice grace period for new Mac purchases made a month before SL's release and I was able to get the upgrade for free.

I imagine the same will happen with Lion.

louis FashionApr 3, 01:55 PMThis ad will never work. People want ads that make them feel like teenage boys. I know this from Android ads. Steel and lasers, Apple. Steel and lasers!

Great post. Maybe we should ban all iPad sales to "over 18" that would firmly place Apple in the "elitist" camp

inkswampApr 3, 02:45 PMIsn't that a Verizon ad, not a Mototrola one?

People keep whining about the "Droid" commercials but that is Verizon's branding and line and has nothing to do with the manufacturers. Look at this Droid Incredible commercial by HTC (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cNz1qfJc9z4U) (this one too (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1ZkcODD6Zaw)) and then see what Verizon (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gwzKFDkb0MI) did to it.

I'm not so much questioning who's behind the Droid and Xoom ads, but mainly pointing out that Apple is going 180-degrees with their ads by contrast, de-geeking things and making them more accessible. Sure, the Xoom ads are really freaking cool looking but that's mainly for geeks. But for the average consumer, the ones who aren't turned on by flashy, sci-fi imagery where tablets become hovering ships and users turn into robots, which do you think is more inviting?

tuartboyNov 28, 10:10 AM"Microsoft is going to put tons of money in this over time, much like they did with the Xbox" video game console, she said. "It's not about the first generation (of devices)."

Isn't the non-360 version of the Xbox the first generation?

Didn't it sell very well?

BLUELIONApr 3, 01:52 PMTurn on a TV, read a newspaper, or go online and check out the news...Japan is having a national disaster over there affecting the ability of workers to get to work, not to mention eat uncontaminated food.

No work by workers, means no products made. No products made, means no supply for anyone, including Apple.

Wake up count-chocula, no hype just the reality of the world Peter pan. Im sure the people of Japan are very sorry for causing you to be annoyed.

Unbelievable!

Cranking up the hype machine when the product is out of stock every where is classic Apple.

Annoying.

ZadilloOct 23, 01:16 PMI'm hoping for a MPB with: Core 2 Duo up to 2.33 Ghz - Flash boot (NAND memory) - better GPU, ATI launched her x1800 mobile GPU march 2006 - 802.11n - more ram capacity - firewire 800 and faster super drive.

But Im afread I have to wait untill january for this master piece of mobile technology. :(

The X1800 is a monster though...... I think the only thing you can even find it in is some of those high-end 17" gaming behemoth laptops. I can't see any possible way they'd fit it into the 15 or 17" MBP.

rezenclowd3Jan 6, 12:13 AMI also agree with the generally expensive cost of owning a used BMW.

I searched long and hard for my E30, and with over $14k poured into it by the last 3 owners as of last year when the work was done, I picked it up at the right time. However mine was a special case due to the engine+tranny swap.

I wouldn't trust an E36 (91-99) much under $10k. The e30 is cheap to maintain as well as easy to work on, but due to age, if completely stock, be prepared to start pouring money into it to make it a dd again.

Audi, I wouldn't touch used, even though they are damn cool cars, same with Mercs.

Much is luck finding a good DD BMW as well as proper knowledge and inspections.

Good luck finding one that you are happy with. If you get a bad feeling, or feel that the seller is less than 110% honest, just run.

On a side note, the previous owner of my E30 that I posted on page 1 just called and offered to buy it back, and offered to do a trade + cash for his much newer e9033i (if I understood him correctly). I need to take the e30 out AutoXing first to decide...still, will give him first dibs once I decide to depart with this classic car. I think I would have to get rid of it for an E30 M3 though ;-)
